Abstract

1419583 Friction clutches FICHTEL & SACHS AG 12 Dec 1973 [30 Dec 1972] 57537/73 Heading F2C In a double driven disc friction clutch wherein presser plates 4, 5 are urged apart by a Belleville spring 6 to clamp driven discs 2, 3 against a flywheel (not shown) and a cover 1 fast with the flywheel, radial release levers 7 act through tierods 9 to impart a disengaging movement to the pressure plate 4 and the disengaging movement of the pressure plate 4 acts through a lever 8 on the presser plate 5 to impart disengaging movement thereto. As shown the levers 8 are mounted on radial pins 20 carried by the cover 1. An arm 11 of the lever 8 carries an abutment 16 which is adjustable to take up wear and acts on an axial extension 12 of the pressure plate 4. In Figs. 4-7 (not shown) the lever 8 acts on the pressure plates through thrust rods (13 or 18) which may be pivoted to the lever. Anti-rattle springs (15 or 17) are also provided.
