Abstract

1418028 Raising and discharging liquids TREMIX AB 30 April 1974 [11 May 1973] 18945/74 Heading F1R Suction lift apparatus comprises an upper chamber 15 connected to the inlet of an air pump 1 and having a liquid inlet 14, and a lower chamber 16 connected to the upper chamber through a flap valve 18 so that liquid drawn into the upper chamber drains into the lower which has a discharge flap valve 19 and an inlet 35 connectable to the pressure side of the pump I or to the chamber 15 under the control of a valve 30. The valve 30 is controlled by float 23 and sensing means 25, 26 and the arrangement is such that when the liquid reaches level 25 the chamber 16 is pressurized to discharge the liquid closing the valve 18 so that the negative pressure in the chamber 15 is maintained. A counter 29 registers the number of discharges from the chamber 16. Float 22 and sensor 24 operate an alarm or cut out the motor driving the air pump if the liquid level rises excessively in the chamber 15.
