Abstract
1417463 Electromagnetic flowmeters INTERATOM INTERNATIONALE ATOMREAKTORBAU GmbH 25 May 1973 [25 May 1972] 25300/73 Heading G1N An electromagnetic flowmeter includes at least two pairs of electrodes 5 spaced along the flow passage 1, the electrodes on one side of the passage being connected to one common terminal by way of respective variable resistors 7 and the electrodes on the other side of the passage being connected to another common terminal by way of respective variable resistors 7. A voltmeter 8 is connected to the terminals. As described the passage is of electrically conductive material, the electrodes 5 being in electrical contact with the fluid by means of the passage. The magnetic field is provided by a permanent magnetic, Figs. 1-3 (not shown). The mid-point of the plurality of electrode pairs may be offset with respect to the centre of the permanent magnet in the direction of flow.
