Abstract

1416371 Dynamoelectric machine stator supports GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 22 Jan 1973 [24 Jan 1972] 3138/73 Heading H2A A dynamoelectric machine, e.g. a large steam or gas-turbine generator, comprising an armature stator assembly 17 having an electromagnetic core 19 positioned between two end frames 15 and within a minimal non-supportive outer wrapper 41, is characterized in that the assembly 17 is supported by springs 29 mounted directly on the machine foundations thereby isolating core vibrations caused by electromagnetic forces as the rotor rotates, from the outer wrapper 41. The springs are connected to the stator core at its points of minimum vibration determined as described in Specification 684,929, which is referred to.
