1411185 Alkali metal hydrosulphites PENNWALT CORP 10 Jan 1973 [3 Aug 1972] 1352/73 Heading C1A Alkali metal hydrosulphites are made by reacting an alkali metal sulphite, bisulphite (including metabisulphite), or hydroxide with sulphur dioxide and an alkali metal formate in a liquid medium consisting of one or more of dimethylformamide, dimethylacetamide, N- methylacetamide and diethylacetamide, optionally in admixture with up to 30% by weight of water, based on the total solvent medium.
