Abstract
1410333 Tubular heat exchangers JOHN HENNING (ENG) Ltd 5 Dec 1972 [1 Aug 1972] 35970/72 Heading F4S A convector heater incorporates a finned sinuous heat exchange element made up of three U-shaped tubes 10 interconnected by return bands 11. The straight tube portions of the lowermost U-tube lie in a common horizontal plane whereas the straight tube portions of the other U-tubes lie in a common plane inclined upwardly and rearwardly towards the rear of the heater. Each fin 14 is vertically disposed and comprises a lower horizontally extending portion 15 and a skewed upper portion 16. The straight tube portions extend through flanged apertures 17, 18 in the respective fin portions 15, 16 which are supported in position by means of end brackets 22. The longitudinal axes of the parallel and horizontally extending straight tube portions lie in different vertical planes. Heating fluid, e.g. hot water enters the element through an inlet 13 and leaves through an outlet 12, fluid flow through the element being controlled by means of a valve 21.
