Abstract
1406666 Developing electrostatic latent images HOECHST AG 7 Sept 1972 [10 Sept 1971] 41604/72 Heading G2H An electro-photographic apparatus, in which a photo-conductive member passes through a developing station where a cascade or magnetic brush applies developer to electrostatic latent images on the member, includes a developing electrode which is maintained at a fixed potential during development of an image and at a lower potential when a portion of the photo-conductive member which does not carry an image passes through the station. As a result less toner sticks to charged but unimaged portions of the photoconductive member than would otherwise be the case, and less strain is imposed on the cleaning means which removes excess toner from the photoconductive member.
