Abstract
1401415 Roller mills Gebr BUEHLER AG 23 Jan 1974 [24 Jan 1973 6 Dec 1973] 03178/ 74 Heading B2A A roller mill comprises a pair of grinding rollers 6, 7, Fig 1 a feed arrangement viz a hopper 9 and roller 10 and a pneumatic inlet duct 14 extending to the vicinity of the gap 15 between the rollers for uniform feeding of material to be ground lengthwise of the rollers. A hopper 19, with an inspection door 26, collects material for onward pneumatic conveyance. Air is removed from the pneumatic inlet duct by a suction device viz a duct 41 independently of the hopper. A pneumatic conveying conduit 31 has connected to it the suction device or duct 41 and the outlet from the hopper 19. The hopper 19 includes an air injector 30. The duct 41 includes a valve 42 and thus removes air from the nip independently of negative pressure in the hopper 19. In a second embodiment a suction extractor means 27 Fig 2 is taken around roller 7 and along the rear wall of the hopper 19. The duct 14 and injector 30 are controlled by a flap 30' Fig 2. A third embodiment has a pocket wheel at the foot of the discharge hopper Fig 3 (not shown), the hopper 19 is narrowed and a suction conduit (66) is provided externally. A fourth embodiment includes a fan 71 for the conduit 66 (not shown). Conduit 31 can work with + or - pressure. In a fifth embodiment a conduit 72 is connected by a nozzle 81 to the hopper 19 which opens by an arcuate injector 82 into the conveying conduit 31, Fig 5. In the embodiment of Fig 7 the feed is stirred by a bladed shaft 16. Air in the duct 14 and the injector 30 are regulated by a valve 30'. The lower part of a suction extraction duct 27 includes a removable cleaning panel 97. The duct 27 is continued upwards by a shaft 90 which has an exterior wooden closure 92. The arrangement leaves an aperture 95 which provides suction in the feed hopper 9 and permits extraction of fine dust particles and thus prevents the need for filters. It also permits the sampling door 26 to be opened without disturbing the grinding conditions.
