Abstract

1494780 Washing bottles MILPRO NV and CENZAD MANAGEMENT AG 14 March 1975 [19 March 1974] 10861/75 Heading B8T An apparatus for washing articles, such as bottles, is provided with a plurality of treating stations, each of which is provided with a treating liquid bath of spraying installation and is located in a first or a second portion of a treating path where the temperature of the articles can be increased or decreased respectively through contact with treating liquid, characterized by a closed heat transport circuit through which a heat transport medium can flow, said circuit including a heat exchanger, for withdrawing heat from the treating liquid in the second part of the path, a heat exchanger for supplying heat to the treating liquid in the first part of the path and a compressor therebetween for compressing the medium. The initially gaseous medium is compressed to increase its temperature, subsequently liquefied to supply heat to the treating liquid and finally expanded back to the gaseous state by absorbing heat from the treating liquid. If the medium always remains in the gaseous state, it is expanded to reduce its temperature before absorbing heat from the treating liquid. The treating liquid, either water or cleaning liquid, travels in circuits between the treating stations with conditioning means, such as filters, neutralizers and sterilizers provided in at least one of the circuits.
