Abstract
1492069 Burners ISHIKAWAJIMA-HARIMA JUKOGYO KK 24 Dec 1974 [28 Dec 1973 21 Oct 1974] 55701/74 Heading F4T A burner arrangement in a furnace comprises a primary air injection port 5 adjacent wall 2 of the furnace, fuel burners 7, 8, in the port, and at least one secondary air injection port 12 disposed on the side of port 5 away from wall 2, and inclined to direct the secondary air towards the wall. The air ports are provided in a tile 3 raised above the furnace bed 1, and are of triangular cross-section. Burner 8 is an oil burner, and burners 7 are gas burners. Primary air is supplied by a duct 10 having a damper 9 therein, and secondary air is supplied by a duct 14 with a damper 13. In a modification, secondary air ports 12 are provided in either one or two tiles (15), Figs. 7-9 (not shown), and are of square cross-section. There may be one, or more than two, secondary air ports which may be of any suitable cross-section. It is stated that the fuel and air may be injected downwardly into the furnace. A conventional stepped-walltype furnace and a conventional burner are described with reference to Figs. 1-4 (not shown).
