Abstract

1491164 Seals REPCO RESEARCH PTY Ltd 11 Aug 1975 [15 Aug 1974] 33443/75 Heading F2B In a lip-type seal for relatively rotating members having a pumping configuration 11 on one of the interacting mutually inclined surfaces 4, 5, a discontinuity 13 at the lip edge 6 deforms the seal lip when a shaft is inserted through the seal to produce interrupted engagement of the lip with the shaft by forming passages 14 through which fluid can only pass under dynamic conditions.
