Abstract
1475334 Ink jet printer MEAD CORP 23 Oct 1974 [24 Oct 1973] 45883/74 Heading G3N To avoid the production of "satellite drops" in a liquid jet drop recording system including a resonant stimulation transducer 12, a drive circuit 11 tracks the frequency at which the transducer is resonating as it varies due to e.g. temperature effects, and generates a driving signal to the transducer at said frequency. As shown, circuit 11 comprises an amplifier 30, load resistor 32 and negative and positive feedback loops to respective input terminals 34, 42 of amplifer 30. The negative feedback loop has two brackets, one comprising a resistor 33 and the other comprising a peak detector 35, a differential amplifier 36 and a voltage dependent resistance 37, which is constituted by an F.E.T. (46) Fig. 2 (not shown) and a bias resistor (45). The positive feedback loop preferably comprises a Wien bridge arrangement 38-41; if the transducer has only one resonant frequency, however, this loop may be constituted by a simple connection from the output to the input of amplifier 30.
