Abstract

1474253 Cartons H KILIAN Ltd and M W CRISP 1 July 1975 [3 July 1974] 29539/74 Heading B8P A ventilated carton of tray form having inclined side walls has a lid of similar form fitting inside the tray, the lid is located below the top of the side walls to facilitate stacking. The material used may be thick paper, thin or solid card, or corrugated paper or board or plastics which has been made by injection, vacuum or blow moulding. If fibre board is used it may be laminated to sulphite or Kraft paper. A coating of a plastics, wax or other waterproof material may be provided. The tray has a central base and sides folded up therefrom with extensions on one pair of sides secured of the other pair of sides by a pressure sensitive adhesive such as polyvinyl acetate or a hot melt glue or by staples. In one form, Fig. 5, the lid has a tear-out portion 17 that is folded at 22 to form a display panel. Alternatively, the portion 17 may be completely torn off. In another form, Fig. 7, the lid has apertures 30 to hold separate articles. The carbon can carry printing and may be tinted inside to enhance the appearance of the contents.
