1470493 4 - [1 - (2 - naphthylmethyl) - 1,2,5,6- tetrahydropyrid - 4 - yl] - chroman - 5 - ol esters BEECHAM GROUP Ltd 12 Aug 1975 33473/75 Addition to 1451151 Heading C2C Novel compounds of the formula II and salts thereof wherein n is 3 or 4, X is C 1-4 alkylene, R is H or methyl, R 1 is H or C 1-4 alkyl, R 2 is H or C 1-4 alkyl or R 1 and R 2 together with the nitrogen to which they are attached form a 5- to 7-membered alicyclic ring, may be prepared by esterifying a compound of the formula IV with an acid R 1 R 2 NXCOOH or a reactive, optionally protected, derivative thereof. Pharmaceutical compositions of the compounds II or salts thereof with the usual excipients show anti-hypertensive activity when administered orally or parenterally.
