Abstract

1469490 Offshore platforms RAYMOND INTERNATIONAL Inc 5 Feb 1975 [6 Feb 1974] 4930/75 Heading EIH A method of erecting an offshore tower comprises positioning a template or jacket 20 on a sea bed with the upper end extending above the surface, floating a barge 74 with pile-driving equipment out to the template, jacking the barge up on legs 30, driving anchor piles 28 through the bottom of the template, thereafter lowering the barge and floating it away before a permanent platform 22, or parts of a platform, are assembled on the jacket. In Fig. 3, not shown, an arrangement for lifting a platform comprises tubes (60), grippers (55), (56) and double acting jacks (58). For Figures see next column
