Abstract

1467178 Concealed hinges; hinge mountings H DROOFF trading as [PRAMETA PRAZISIONSMETALL-UND KUNSTSTOFFERZEUGNISSE G BAUMANN & CO] 7 March 1974 [11 Feb 1974 17 March 1973] 10334/74 Heading E2F In a concealed hinge (e.g. a furniture hinge), of the type in which link arms 8, 9 extend between mounting parts 4, 5, a member 14 to which the arms 8, 9 are pivoted is adjustably mounted with respect to one mounting part by means of projections 17 which engage in slots 16 and allow sliding and pivotal adjustment; a screw 18 being used to set the extent of pivoting about the axis of the projections and a locking screw 21 securing the member 14 against sliding from its adjusted position. In the embodiment shown in Figs. 1, 4, 5 the slots 16 are formed in a top portion 4b of the mounting part 4 which is adjustable (by means of screws 25 engaging in slots 24) with respect to a base portion 4a. This base portion has inclined slots 23 to receive the member 14. In the embodiment shown in Figs. 9, 10 the mounting part 26 has slots 27 which receive projections 28 on the member 14a, a screw 29 engages in undercut slot 32 to effect angular adjustment and locking screw 30 engages in recess 31. The modification shown in Fig. 11 employs an intermediate member 34 which engages the mounting part 26 and slidably receives the member 14b. Link arm 36 is pivoted to member 14b and to member 34 and member 14b is pivoted to the mounting part 5. The hinge linkages shown can be replaced by linkages allowing more opening movement if required.
