Abstract

1466236 Artificial stone P M DOWN 18 Dec 1973 [19 Sept 1972] 43342/72 Heading C1H Artificial stone is made by (a) forming a mixture of (1) chalk, (2) lead carbonate, (3) boiled linseed oil, (b) shaping or moulding the mixture into blocks, (c) drying the blocks, (d) stacking the blocks for curing and (e) baking the blocks in a kiln. The mixture may also contain a pigment and white spirit. The surfaces of the blocks may be coated with a mixture of boiled linseed oil and white spirit before drying. The blocks should be dried for at least 24 hours and stacked for 28 days or more before baking. Preferably 6 parts by weight of chalk should be used per part of lead carbonate.
