Abstract

1462307 Electronic calendar indicators CITIZEN WATCH CO Ltd 19 Feb 1974 7418/74 Heading G3T [Also in Division G5] A visual display arrangement comprises first and second dissimilar groups, e.g. I, II, Fig. 4, of selectively controllable light transmission elements which are used to indicate the first two letters of the days of the week, there being no more than eleven elements in each group. A third group III may also be provided to indicate the third letter of each day of the week. The arrangement may be provided in a wrist watch, Fig. 8 (not shown), and the groups may be capable of indicating numerals so that times and dates may also be displayed. Besides English the days of the week may be indicated in French, German, Portuguese, Spanish, Dutch or Finnish and a single arrangement may be capable of displaying the day names in two languages. The indication for a Sunday may be distinguished by a different colour. The light transmission elements used may be plasma display tubes, fluorescent display tubes, incandescent lamps, Braun tubes, photo-diodes, miniature bulbs, liquid crystals, PLZT ceramic devices and electrochromic devices.
