1460224 Rotary mower INTERNATIONAL HARVESTER CO 26 April 1974 [11 May 1973] 18340/74 Heading A1F The two outboard disc cutters 1D, 1E of a rotary mower are provided with discharge members consisting of pins 16 welded to the upper surface of knife bearing rotors 1 and extending upwardly and rearwardly of the rotor relative to the direction of rotation. Both discs are rotated anticlockwise by gearing 23, the leading edges 16' of pins 16 serving to propel the cut crop inwardly towards conventional disc cutters 1A, 1B and 1C thereby producing a uniform discharge of crop and a consequent reduction in the possibility of clogging in the vicinity of the swathboard 25. In another embodiment (Fig. 5) the discharge members comprise four blades 19 integral with arms 17 pivoted to the rotor in the vicinity of its rotational axis, the leading edges 20 of blades 19 extending upwardly and rearwardly relative to the direction of rotation; the pivotal attachment of each arm 17 allows the discharge member to yield on encountering an obstruction. In a third embodiment (Fig. 7), the pivoted arms 21 engage blades 19 at a region midway between their highest and lowest extent.
