Abstract
1456540 Mono-azo pigment from p-nitroaniline and 5-acetoacetylamino-benzimidazolone HOECHST AG 5 April 1974 [7 April 1973] 15249/74 Heading C4P The novel pigment is prepared by coupling diazotized p-nitroaniline with 5 - acetoactylamino - benzimidazolone and then subjecting the product to a thermal after treatment preferably in the presence of a solvent. Coupling is preferably effected in the presence of a surface-active compound, e.g. stearyl alcohol oxyethylate having 20 ethylene oxide units. The pigment may be used for the production of printing pastes, colour lakes and dispersion paints, for the coloration of natural rubber, plastics materials and natural and synthetic resins, for pigment printing on a substrate, e.g. textiles and paper, for the dyeing of viscose rayon, cellulose ethers and esters, polyolefins, polyamides, polyurethanes, polyglycol terephthalates and polyacrylonitrile in the spinning solution and for the colouring of paper.
