Abstract

1451565 Selective printing INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORP 28 May 1974 [25 June 1973] 23667/74 Heading B6F A printer includes a movable print head 10 defining an arcuate path and one or more arcuate platens A, B, C concentric with said path. The head may be a wire matrix or electro discharge or thermographic. The head 10 and its counterweight 8 are fixed to shaft 1 which is driven in direction 17 when connected to motor 4 by clutch and returned by spring 23 when clutch 5 is disengaged. A dashpot 24 absorbs the energy of the return movement. The motor is controlled by marked and indented interposer 19 moved between light sources and photo-cells (not shown).
