Abstract

1449747 Combined carrying case and seat J C C CHIPMAN 13 June 1974 26270/74 Headings A4G and A4J A combined carrying case and seat comprises a pair of lightweight planar sections 2, 2' joined at their bottom by a foldable panel 17, and a pair of foldable side panels 27, 27' each joined to and extending between corresponding edges of the sections 2, 2' and also joined to the panel 17, so that the sections can be moved between a first position, Fig. 3, forming a carry case with the panel 17 extended to form a flat bottom, and a second position, Fig. 4, forming a seat with the side panels extended. As described the sections 2, 2' include tubular frames 3 supporting panels 15, 15' of fabric or plastics. When fabric is used each panel is of double thickness and the outer layers are extended to form flaps 37, 39 which are joined at 41 to provide the side flaps 27, 27'. A drawstring 45 is threaded through eyelets in the side panels and panels 15, 15' for closing the case when in the Fig. 3 position or for supporting the panels 15, 15' at the desired angle in the Fig. 4 position.
