Abstract

1448993 Rifle grenades DYNAMIT NOBEL AG 30 Nov 1973 [7 Dec 1972] 55736/73 Heading F3A A rifle or pistol grenade, Fig. 2, comprises a striker 10 which, upon launching the grenade, is projected against an igniter 6 for a pyrotechnic delay 7 that leads to an ejectable flare, or a tear gas-, fog-, or smoke-producing, combustible charge 19. The striker is projected by propellant gas pressure; or by a bullet, if the striker is formed with a suitable trap. The striker is spaced from the igniter by a spring 12 and may be retained by friction or frangible means. The grenade can carry a propellant cartridge and a sighting device 33, 32, Fig. 6, which are both removable and are for use with the rifle.
