Abstract

1448202 Making flue outlets ENVIROMARK Ltd 12 Oct 1973 [12 July 1972] 32501/72 Heading B3A [Also in Division F4] A method of making a flue outlet, which includes a body having at one end an elongated rectangular opening 10 bounded by a flange 11 and at its other end a circular collar, tube or sleeve adapted to engage with the upper part of a flue, comprises forming the body in two similar halves and securing the halves together, the dividing plane of the halves passing through the longer centre line of the elongated rectangular opening and the centre of the circular collar tube or sleeve. The opening 10 is shaped to match a rectangular opening in the upper end of a flue outlet from, e.g. a gas operated furnace or boiler. The body halves are made by high pressure die casting a light alloy such as aluminium alloy and they are secured together by riveting, screwing, welding or brazing or by means of an adhesive. The halves are handed and formed with inter-engaging ribs 18.
