1337757 Thermographic materials COLUMBIA RIBBON & CARBON MFG CO Inc 5 Oct 1971 [19 Oct 1970] 46259/71 Heading G2C A thermographic material comprises a transparent polymeric support, a first layer containing an acid-sensitive dye-precurser and a binder which is either (i) a vinyl chloride homo- or co-polymer or a mixture of 2 or more thereof or a mixture of such a homo- and/or co-polymer with another polymer soluble in a common solvent or (ii) a vinyl-idene chloride homo- or copolymer mixed with 25-95 per cent by weight of the mixture, a polymer soluble in a common solvent and a second layer containing a vaporizable aromatic acid in a binder other than nitrocellulose which is not soluble in, nor a solvent for the binder of the first layer, the layers being coated in either order. Specified binders for the second layer are polyvinyl butyral, cellulose acetate butyrate and nylon..
