Abstract
1337343 Making commutators for electric motors C CONRADTY 27 Oct 1971 [12 Nov 1970] 49888/71 Heading B3A [Also in Division H2] To suppress radio and television interference, the segments 2 of an electric motor voltage dependent commutator are applied in an electrically conductive manner to an either discoidal, as shown, or cylindrical, Figs. 3 and 4, voltage dependent resistor 1. Several manufacturing examples are described, wherein the segments may be a metallic coating sprayed on to the resistor, reinforced by plating and subsequently polished; or to such a coated resistor are bonded or soldered stamped Cu segments; or instead of the foregoing separate segments the latter are applied to the resistor while still interconnected by a central web which is subsequently stamped or drilled out; or the segments may be coated with a conductive adhesive and pressed on to an uncoated resistor. Connections to rotor coils may be made via solder lugs 5, and the invention is applicable to F.H.P., or instrument, motors.
