Abstract

1335319 Rotary drum incinerators K SUGANO and K MATSUMURA 30 July 1971 [30 Dec 1970] 36000/71 Heading F4B A rotary incinerator comprises a drum 10 closed at each end by a stationary face plate 24, a charging door 30 carried by one face plate, and a flue outlet 31 in the other face plate connected to a stack 32. The outer wall of the drum is formed as a water jacket 13, water being supplied through a central annulus 34 connected to the jacket 13 by tubes 46. This is supplied to the refuse through grooves 38 in the water supply annulus 34, an extension of the outer cylinder of annulus 34 having slots 43 receiving air from a chest supplied by a blower. Axial pipes 40, 47 supply and remove the cooling water. Pressure relief tubes 48 extending from the water jacket 13 have counter balanced caps 49, and guides 51 hold the caps closed when the relief tubes are below the level of outlet 47. Helical lifters 55 are arranged around the inner wall of jacket 13.
