Abstract
1328422 Selective printing CLEVITE CORP 19 April 1971 [15 April 1970] 27069/71 Heading B6F An electrographic printer comprises recording electrodes 1-4 and complementary electrodes 55-61, recording being effected when a recording electrode and a corresponding complementary electrode are simultaneously energized, the recording electrodes being arranged in groups, and each group having complementary electrodes projecting beyond the edge of the group so that the potential caused thereby is substantially uniform over the group. As shown, each group 31-36 of recording electrodes is associated with a pair of adjacent complementary electrodes such as 57, 58 corresponding to group 33. Adjacent groups of recording electrodes are energized at different times as selected by switch 89. The groups may be in a single row as shown, or in two rows (Fig. 7, not shown) each group having a single associated complementary electrode, or may each comprise a 5 x 7 matrix (Fig. 5, not shown).
