Abstract

1327154 Dioxycyclohexanecarboxanilides AMERICAN CYANAMID CO 17 Dec 1971 [15 Jan 1971 11 Nov 1971] 58795/71 Heading C2C The invention comprises compounds having the general formula wherein R and R 1 , which may be the same or different, are hydrogen, phenyl, halophenyl, benzyl or alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; R 2 is sulphur or oxygen; R 3 and R 4 , which may be the same or different, are hydrogen, alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms or phenyl; W is hydrogen or halogen; X is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, haloalkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkoxy having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, alkylthio having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, cyano, carbalkoxy having 1 to 4 carbons in the alkyl part, or nitro; Y is hydrogen, halogen or alkyl or haloalkyl each having 1 to 4 carbon atoms and X and Y together may form a benzo group; and Z is hydrogen or halogen. They may be prepared by reacting a 1,3-cyclohexanedion of the formula with an isocyanato or isothiocyanate having the formula at a temperature of from 30‹ to 150‹ C. The compounds of the invention may be used for the control of insects, acarids and the eggs and larvae thereof.
