Abstract

1325441 Pressurized dispensing containers L DERTLING Ltd 27 July 1970 [19 May 1969] 25520/69 Heading F1R [Also in Divisions F2 and F4] A valve assembly on a liquified nitrogen vessel, comprises a head 3 sealing the neck of the vessel. an outlet tube 7 which extends from the head into the liquid, a valve seat 9 in the tube spaced along the tube from the head, a closure member 10 which co-operates with the valve seat to control the flow to an outlet 4, and a rod 11 in the tube connected at one end to the closure member and at the other end to a manual control 6 at the head. This arrangement ensures that the cooling effect of gaseous expansion at the valve is sufficiently insulated from the screwed control knob 6 to alleviate icing difficulties. Closure member 10 may be brass and seat 9 may be brass or P.T.F.E. The tube 7 and rod 11 may both be of stainless steel.
