Abstract

1319753 Wrap-around garments B LEVY 17 Sept 1971 [20 Nov 1970] 43484/71 Heading A3V A wrap-around garment 12 comprises an elongated strip of pliable material 14 having an aperture 20 therein intermediate the ends 16, 18 of the strip, in use one end portion of the strip extending through the aperture 20 and being releasably secured to the other end, e.g. by tying in a knot so as to provide an intermediate generally circular portion encircling the body of a wearer. The effective size of the aperture may be varied by use of a sliding clasp fastener 22, otherwise a drawstring, elastic or other fastening means may be employed. The aperture may be disposed transverse or parallel to or at any other angle to the length of the strip, and the strip may be long enough to pass once, twice or three times round the body of the wearer. The width of the strip is chosen in accordance with the body coverage desired, and the material used may be a knitted, woven or non-woven fabric or plastics sheet material.
