Abstract

1316267 Conveyers for loading J S SIEDER 14 July 1970 [15 July 1969 19 Feb 1970] 35651/69 and 8121/70 Headings B8A B8E and B8H [Also in Division F1] A slipper device for handling bulk load containers supported on pallets comprises an inflatable bag 25 trapped between a lift platform 20 and a lower frame member 10, the platform being provided with a roller conveyer 31 and the frame 10 having sprung wheels 15. The device may be coupled to adjacent devices by latch members 43. In use, two or more of the slipper devices, with their bags deflated, are inserted under a pallet, the bags are inflated and, upon the frame 10 engaging the floor as the wheel springs 16 are compressed, the loaded pallet is raised and is movable on the roller conveyer. A pipe coupling 29 provides for supply of pressure fluid to the bag 25. A further coupling (29a), Figs. 6, 7 (not shown), permits coupled devices to be supplied and controlled from one point. Freely movable balls may be used instead of the rollers.
