Abstract
1308471 Valves ACF INDUSTRIES Inc 8 May 1970 [16 May 1969] 22249/70 Heading F2V The valve has a body 10 with aligned inlet and outlet passages 14 terminating inside the valve chamber in opposed sealing surfaces engaged by seats 62. The seats are carried by a carrier housing 46 connected to a bonnet 28 which has a flange 26 sealingly connected to a flange 20 on the body. A closure member 54 located in the carrier housing is connected to an operating stem 42 in the bonnet. The closure member has a port 56 alignable with the seats 62 in open position. The carrier housing is accurately aligned by a locating surface 48 thereon which engages a surface 50 of the body. As shown, the flanges are clamped by pivotable members 34. On removal of a shroud 38 these members are released by a cam surface 36 so that all the operating parts can be removed as a unit from the body 10. The valve is operated by a return spring type linear hydraulic operator, the bonnet 28 being formed integrally with a base portion of the operator. The invention may be applied also to plug valves of the rotatable ball or cylindrical or tapered plug types.
