Abstract
1307409 Preparation of amides and imides GOODYEAR TIRE & RUBBER CO 18 May 1970 [23 June 1969 23, March 1970] 23993/70 Heading C2C [Also in Division C3] Amides are prepared by reacting an amine with an acid halide in the presence of an acid absorbing agent. Imides are prepared by reacting an amine with a cyclic acid anhydride, separating the amine acid and dehydrating with a dehydrating agent. In Examples 1-6, N-(4- anilinophenyl):- acrylamide, -maleamic acid, - maleimide, -cinnamide, -crotonamide and itaconamic acid are prepared.
