Abstract
1302862 Stud and socket fastenings THOMAS WALKER Ltd 15 May 1970 [26 June 1969] 32229/69 Heading E2B In a stud and socket fastening, the stud 10, Fig. 1, and the socket 25 are both made of synthetic plastics material, are both provided with a back-plate 17 or 17a, and have notches 22 or 28 and recesses 23 or 29 which receive prongs 18 or 18a of the back-plate therein. In use the prongs are forced through a garment material 20, or 20a, Fig. 2, and are foldedover to retain the fastening member in situ. The stud has a projection 12 having a head 13 and neck 14 with flats 15, thereon, and the socket has a slot 30, one part of which receives the head 13 of the stud therethrough and a part 31 of which receives the neck 14 of the stud when the latter is moved into the fastening position. A recess 32 is provided in the socket 25 to accommodate the head 13 of the stud and prevent the latter from protruding.
