Abstract

1300366 Disazo dyes BAYER AG 9 July 1971 [11 July 1970] 32355/71 Heading C4P Disazo dyes have the general formula wherein R 1 and R 2 represent non-ionic substituents; X is a OH, alkoxy or acylamino group; R 3 and R 4 represent H, alkyl or aralkyl groups; m is 0, 1, 2 or 3 and n is 0, 1 or 2. Suitable substituents R 1 are halogen atoms; C 1 -C 4 alkyl radicals, optionally substituted by halogen; C 1 -C 4 alkoxy radicals; carbamayl and sulphamoyl groups optionally substituted by optionally substituted alkyl radicals or by substituted phenyl radicals; and carboxylic and sulphonic acid ester groups containing 2-7 carbon atoms. Suitable substituents R 2 are alkyl and alkoxy radicals, halogen atoms, acylamino groups and alkyl carbonylamino groups. The dyes are obtained by diazotising an aminoazo compound of formula and coupling with an amine of formula and when R 3 and R 4 are hydrogen, optionally subsequently alkylating or aralkylating the product. The dyes give red and orange shades on natural and synthetic polyamide fibre material.
