Abstract

1399971 Cleaning plates ROY M MOFFITT CO 2 May 1973 [8 May 1972] 20858/73 Heading A4F A jet washer system for cleaning plates used in the drying of leather hides, comprises a conveyer which holds the plates vertically, and two cleaning structures 20, 21 one on each side of the conveyer, each structure 20, 21 including a vertical panel having rotatably mounted thereon a plurality of spaced multi-arm pressure jet units each rotated by a respective motor 60, 91, 93 at a rate such that the entire surface of each plate is impinged by the cleaning liquid. A pump delivers liquid to the nozzle at the end of each jet arm at a pressure in excess of 500 p.s.i and flexible wipers 25, 26, 28 at the top and sides of each structure 20, 21 close off the space between the structures 20, 21. The jet units are vertically spaced and the central unit may be horizontally staggered, the resultant jets overlapping.
