Abstract

1397379 Feeding sheets XEROX CORP 30 March 1973 15567/73 Heading B8R Sheets are separated from the top of a pile 10 by first moving the sheets in a direction opposite to the required feed direction with a first friction roller 12B and then moving the sheets in the feed direction with a second friction roller 12A. The initial reverse feed causes the sheets to buckle against rear wall 33 and frees their forward ends from snubbing device 34. The roller 12A is motor driven and the roller 12B is driven frictionally from the roller 12A. The rollers are supported by a lever mechanism such that they may alternately be brought into engagement with the pile.
