Abstract
1385726 Invalid carriages H A V JOHANSSON 7 June 1972 [2 May 1971] 26508/72 Heading B7B [Also in Division A4] A wheel chair has an undercarriage which is open at the rear to facilitate positioning the chair over a standard floor or wall mounted W.C., and is provided with a seat 6 having a cutout 10 closable by means of a removable or fold down cover. The undercarriage uprights 2a, 2b are interconnected toward the front of the chair by two cross-members 5, and may have two foot boards 8a, 8b pivoted at 9 to facilitate use with a floor mounted W.C. The chair arms 12 may be pivotally mounted to allow the occupant to move sidewardly from the chair, and the seat 6 may be removably mounted on guides 7. The cutout cover (not shown) may be a loose member which may be applied from the side or the front of the chair or may be pivotally connected to the seat.
