1383508 Discharging from a nested stack of articles; feeding sheets BRISTOL PACKAGING MACHINES Ltd 26 Oct 1972 [1 Sept 1971] 54043/72 Divided out of 1383506 Headings B8C B8R and B8S Apparatus for separating the lowermost lid in a stack of similar lids 120 provided with peripheral flanges "f" comprises a plurality of supports 140 spaced around the stack and supporting the lowermost lid 120a, and a plurality of rotary flay bars 141 disposed around the stack between the supports and driven in unison to contact the flange f of the lowermost lid and urge it downwardly. There may be four bars 141 mounted on shafts 142 interconnected by bevel gears. The supports 140 may comprise fixed plates, or cams rotatable about a vertical axis to permit the lowermost lid to fall between gaps in the cams.
