Abstract

1381537 Supports for rollers MASCHINENFABRIK ANDRITZ AG 9 Aug 1972 [18 Aug 1971] 37095/72 Heading F4G A roller, e.g. the upper roller 1 of the press part of a paper machine is carried in bearings 4 by a cantilever 3 pivoted at 5 to a frame 7, a support member 14 normally supporting the free end 11 of the cantilever 3 but being pivoted to the pillar 15 of the frame 7 so as to be swing- able away from the free end 11 to provide access for changing a felt 12 or foraminous belt 13. The end 8 of the cantilever 3 has to be clamped to a pedestal 9 by a lever 10 before the support member 14 is swung away from the free end 11. The support member 14 is secured to the free end 11 by nuts 16, 17 engaging bolts and eyebolts respectively, and to the frame pillar 15 by nuts engaging eyebolts 19. Lugs 20 on the support member 14 are received between pairs of lugs 21 on the frame pillar 15, and are connected to the lugs 21 by pivot bolts 23. The nuts and bolts 16, 17 and 19 may be manipulated so that the support member 14 can then be swung through 180 degrees about its vertical (or horizontal or inclined), pivot axis.
