Abstract

1375798 Conveyers R J RICCIARDI 23 Feb 1973 [25 July 1972] 9090/73 Heading B8A A screw conveyer 26 receives material from the outlet 16 of a prefeeder 12 by way of a downspout 22 to which the conveyer 26 is movably sealed, and discharges material into a conduit 40 to which the conveyer 26 is movably sealed, the drive of the prefeeder 12 being controlled by a weighing means responsive to the material conveyed by the conveyer 26. The prefeeder 12 and the conduit 40 are secured to a main frame 10, whilst the conveyer 26 is secured to a movable frame 46 carried by a balance beam 58 acting on a differential transformer 44 to produce an electric signal in response to the weight of material in the conveyer 26. This signal is compared with a signal indicative of the desired rate of feed by the conveyer 26 to control the prefeeder 12.
