Abstract

1375778 Mechanical switches; retractive switches SWF-SPEZIALFABRIK FUR AUTOZUBEHOR GUSTAV RAU GmbH 16 May 1972 [8 July 1971] 22819/72 Heading H1N An actuator tube 11 for a direction indicator or like switch mounted on the steering column of a motor vehicle, carries a tubular housing 10 for a rotary switch actuated by a rotary handle 12 on the housing, an actuating knob 31 being provided in the handle for an axially displaceable actuator rod 33 within the tube 11 and the housing 10 being mounted eccentrically on the tube 11 to provide for connecting wires 36 to the rotary switch. The handle 12 is coupled via splines 24, 25 to a switch rotor 24 for a rotary bridging contact 22 movable over two or more fixed contacts 19, 20. Coil spring 26 urges the rotor 24 against detent stops 18 and coil spring 30 urges contact 22 against the fixed contacts. The actuating knob 31 has a central integral rod 32 slidable axially in a guide tube 15 on a central support disc 14 for engagement with the end of the actuator rod 33 having a return spring 35 under the head 34.
