Abstract

1374541 Swimming pools CEGEDUR SOC DE TRANSFORMATION DE L'ALUMINIUM PECHINEY 30 Nov 1972 [1 Dec 1971] 55413/72 Heading A4N [Also in Division F2] A swimming pool or a tank which is rectangular in plan view is formed from an assembly of prefabricated and pre-painted rectangular members 2, 5, Fig. 1, of light alloy or metal, the members being provided with holes around their peripheries and being secured together with the inter-positions of sealing joint members 16, Fig. 4, and mastic (19) Fig. 5 (not shown). The members 5 forming the base 3 of the pool and the short sides 4 are of such length as to be without intermediate joints and each is turned over along two edges only. The members 2 are turned over along all four edges and holes 17 extend through these edges and the elastomeric strips 16, at least one of the strips having dove-tailed recesses 18 to provide a key for the mastic. Assembly bolts pass through the holes 17. In one modification, Fig. 3 (not shown), the base is stepped by turning a deeper edge of a member 5; a stepped side wall may be similarly provided. In a further modification, Fig. 6 (not shown) a flat metal strip (20) having dove-tail notches is located between a pair of joint strips 16 which are free from notches.
