Abstract

1365520 Valve gear SOC D'ETUDES DE MACHINES THERMIQUES 26 Nov 1971 [27 Nov 1970] 54939/71 Heading F1B An I. C. engine rocker arm assembly comprises a rocker arm having a valve operating part 3b, Fig.2 selectively displaceable away from a space in the path of travel of the valve which must be clear to facilitate its removal, releasable locking means preventing displacement in normal service. In normal operation parts 3a, 3b Fig. 3 (not shown) are pivoted about holes 10, 10' with the two parts held in fixed relationship by a pin 11 Fig.4 which is clamped by screws (14), Fig. 5 (not shown). Pin 11 is removed to allow part 3b to be swung out of the path of valve cage 8. Lubricant is supplied to bores 10, 10' and the bore of a bush 15 through ducts 17, 16, 18, 19. In another embodiment the pin 4', Fig.7 has splines which engages corresponding grooves in bores 10, 10'.
