Abstract

1363548 Linkwork WOTAN-WERKE GmbH 25 Sept 1972 [23 Sept 1971] 44261/72 Heading F2K [Also in Division B3] A casting machine having separable mould halves F 1 and F 2 is provided with a four-arm linkage carrying a workpiece holding means and/or spraying means and/or blowing means, the said linkage being such as to move the said means along a curve 14 having a first portion extending transversely relative to the direction of separation of the mould halves and a shorter end portion disposed between the mould halves and extending in said direction, the portions of the curve being co-planar. The linkage comprises arms 1, 2, 3 and 4 pivotably connected at joints 5, 6, 8 and 10, the arm 1 being formed by a fixed support 17 and the arm 2 being rotatable through an angle of 250 degrees about the axis 5 by means of a motor 18. The arm 3 consists of a frame comprising tubes (24) (25) and (26) welded to each other, Fig. 5 (not shown). The arm 4 is provided with an extension 4a which carries jaws 30 for gripping a workpiece W, the jaws being actuated by a pneumatic cylinder 33 connected to a rod (32) which extends through the tube constituting the extension 4a. The jaws may be rotated through an angle of 90 degrees about the axis of the extension 4a, by a cylinder 36 whose piston rod is connected to an arm (38) fast with a tubular bar (35) rotatably supported in the extension 4a concentrically with the rod (32) Figs. 6 and 7 (not shown).
