Abstract
1358978 Lawn mowers MACLAREN SNOW Ltd 11 Aug 1971 [12 May 1970] 6767/70 Heading AIF In a grass box 17, for use with a mower, grass cuttings are compacted by a transfer member, e.g. an auger conveyor 19, or a reciprocating plunger, and are extruded through an outlet 22 to a collecting box, in use the leading edge of the grass box defining part of the outlet. The transfer member, which may comprise a single auger as shown or two augers of opposite hand (Fig. 3, not shown) can be driven from the cutter drive mechanism by chain or belt drive, or through gearing. The outlet which may be tapered, can include a sprung loaded compacting plunger. The mower may be manually or motor driven.
