Abstract

1358570 Two-part couplings WESTFALISCHE METALL INDUSTRIE KG HUECK & CO 23 Aug 1971 [25 Aug 1970] 39489/71 Heading H2E A plug 2 for use with cylindrical sockets has at least one laterally projecting contact 21 and a body formed to present at least two corner portions 13, 14 such that physical contact with the socket 1 is made in at least three places for stability. One such plug for use with sockets of two different diameters comprises insulating body halves 10a, 10b forming a generally triangular cross-section lower body portion 11 and an upper body portion 12 of a smaller cross-section (which may be circular rather than triangular) from which projects a spring loaded contact pin 9 connected by a spring 7 to nut 27 carried by the screw 8 which holds the body halves together. Integrally formed resilient contact arms 21, 22 are arranged for contacting the inner wall of the respective socket. The contact arms 21, 22 may be formed from a series of juxtaposed thin sheets (20a, 20b, 20c, Fig. 2, not shown). Leads 4, 5 are connected to the contacts by screws 6, 8.
