Abstract

1356989 Trouser flies DOLLFUS-MIEG & CIE 7 July 1971 [18 Sept 1970] 31903/71 Heading A3V '[Also in Division E2] A prefabricated trouser fly comprises a two part interlocked fastener, e.g. a sliding clasp fastener b, secured, e.g. by stitching, gluing, or ultrasonic welding, to a pair of support tapes c, c 1 , e.g. of natural or synthetic fibre fabric or non-woven material, in the manner shown in Fig. I such that one support tape overlies the other and the fastener is between the tapes. The tapes c, c 1 may incorporate reinforcing elements d, e, formed either by folding the tape material on itself or by using separate pieces of material. The fastener may alternatively comprise two supports respectively carrying buttons and button holes, male and female press-stud parts, or hooks and eyes, or may be a filamentary hook and loop fastener. The prefabricated fly having a sliding clasp fastener may be supplied in rolls containing a plurality of flies with or without the sliding clasps of their fasteners, or in unit form. The fly may be secured in a trouser front f in the manner shown in Fig. 2, such that one tape c 1 is attached by stitching g 1 , g 2 to the under surface of one side of the trouser front to lie completely under the trouser front, and the other tape c is secured by stitching g to the undersurface of the other side of the trouser front to extend beyond that side.
