Abstract
1353401 Moulding shell moulds REGIE NATIONALE DES USINES RENAULT 17 June 1971 [3 July 1970] 28548/71 Heading B5A In a method of manufacturing shell moulds in which a pattern or a pattern cluster 8 is immersed in succession in a number of vessels 3, 4 containing, alternately, a liquid refractory slip and a fluidized suspension of refractory grains, the central holder 9 of each pattern or pattern cluster is detachably received by a head 1 held by a support 6 on a turntable 2 whereby the head is brought, by intermittent rotation of the turntable, above each of the vessels in turn. Each pattern or cluster is rotated about the axis of its holder and when it is positioned above a vessel it is pivoted about a horizontal axis 14, Fig. 2, perpendicular to the holder axis and offset relative thereto whereby the pattern or cluster is immersed in the material of that vessel. On removal, the pattern is held with its axis obliquely upward. Specification 1,353,402 is referred to.
